Colour and value technigues help me create the art I make. I try to come up with something different everytime I paint or draw something but, sometimes it's hard to get out of my comfort zone. Usually what I make, I try to create different moods, my music also affects my work. I believe that art does not have to be all happy or dark. It can be whatever you want it to be. Although it's hard to change what you enjoy doing it's alot different to try something new. I liked drawing in form the best because I thought it was a bit changelling but it looked really nice after it was finished.
A few artists that influenced my work are Edward Hopper, Laurel MacMillian, Matisse, Salvador Dali and Edgar Degas. Alot of my favourtie bands influnce me aswell. As weird as it sounds I usually get idea's from their cover and booklets. One major life event that sometimes affects my work was the death of my Uncle. He influnces me becausehe was so smart and witty. These are just a few of my influences.
I usually just use whatever technique. I don't really have one. I like to use shading, hatching, form, line and shape the most. Maybe it is because I am used to it now. I would like to achieve better skills and find my own style still. It's very hard find it.. I want my artwork to look real, as if you can touch it or take it off the canvas. I think I would need to focus more on lighting to achieve that.
So finally, this is what my artwork is and what I want it to be.
